Kessben Group CEO, Stephen Kwabena Boateng, Passes Away at 68

Stephen Kwabena Boateng, popularly known as Kwabena Kesse or Kessben, and Chief Executive Officer of KESSBEN Group of Companies, has died at the age of 68.

The Kumasi-based businessman is reported to have passed away after a period of illness.

Born on September 12, 1957, Kessben grew up in North Suntreso in Kumasi and built a diverse business empire over more than three decades.

The Kessben Group comprises several registered companies, including Kessben Travel and Tours, Kessben Driving School, Kessben Computer School, Kessben Shipping and Forwarding Ltd., Fosua Hotel and Conference Centre, Kessben University College, Kessben Consult, Kessben Foundation, and Kessben FM Limited.

He was the sole shareholder of Kessben FM Limited, under which his media businesses, including Kessben TV, Aseda TV and Kessben FM, operate.

Kessben also held majority shares in Multi Credit Savings and Loans Ltd.

Beyond business, he was known for his philanthropic activities and served on the National Peace Council from 2004 to 2010.

His death brings to an end the life of one of Kumasi’s prominent entrepreneurs, whose business and media ventures made him a notable figure in Ghana’s corporate and media landscape.
