The newly elected Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, popularly known as Asanteman COKA, has pledged to lead the party with humility, unity, discipline and dedication as he works to restore the NPP to power in the 2028 general elections.

Speaking after his election, COKA expressed gratitude to delegates for the confidence they had reposed in him and promised to work in the interest of the entire party.

“I will lead with humility, unity, discipline and dedication to restore the NPP to power in 2028,” he said.

COKA calls for unity within NPP

The newly elected chairman called on party members in the Ashanti Region to put aside their grievances and work together to rebuild a stronger and more united NPP.

He stressed the importance of unity and collective effort as the party prepares for the 2028 elections.

According to COKA, the NPP must learn from its challenges and focus on strengthening its structures and reconnecting with supporters across the region.

He said his administration would seek to bring members together and create an environment where party supporters and executives could contribute meaningfully to the party’s rebuilding process.

Unsuccessful candidates assured of roles

COKA also extended an invitation to all candidates who contested the regional election, particularly those who were unsuccessful, to contribute to his administration.

He assured them that their participation in the contest would not prevent them from playing a role in the party’s future.

“To all candidates who contested, especially those who were unsuccessful, there is a place for you in my administration. Your experience, ideas and commitment are valuable to the party,” he stated.

He said the experience and ideas of the various contestants would be important to efforts to strengthen the NPP in the Ashanti Region.

Focus on 2028

COKA’s election comes at a critical period for the NPP as the party begins preparations for the 2028 general elections following its return to opposition.

His commitment to unity and reconciliation is expected to form a major part of efforts to rebuild the party’s structures and strengthen its electoral prospects in the region.

The Ashanti Region remains a key electoral stronghold for the NPP, making the regional chairman’s role particularly significant as the party works towards its 2028 objective.

COKA thanked delegates once again for electing him and pledged to justify the confidence placed in him by working diligently to advance the interests of the party.
